I have emailed FG & Lab suggesting, for the duration of the crisis only, the following: all public sector salaries, including our godlike gov.ministers, senior civil servants, bankers, semi-state execs., hospital consultants, etc., etc. have their salaries capped at 100,000k, and all state pensions be capped at 60k, reduced pensions only to be paid out if taken early, i.e. before the age of 65. I have pointed out to them that salaries and pensions on the above vastly reduced scales, compared to their present levels, would represent unimaginable wealth to the majority of the electorate. I suspect the front benches and TDs of both parties would promptly have fallen over with laughter at the idea!
